AC/DC - Chris Slade

Chris Slade is one of the most famous British rock drummers. He has collaborated with a number of musicians including Tom Jones, Manfred Mann\'s Earth Band, Gary Numan, Uriah Heep and Olivia Newton-John. During the early 1980s he has worked with Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers in “The Firm”. He also collaborated with David Gilmour in many of his projects. His genres include Hard rock, Heavy metal, Blues-rock, Progressive rock, and Glam metal.

In 1989 Slade got a big break when he was asked to join the band AC/DC after Simon Wright quit the band. He was initially taken in only temporarily but was later asked to be a permanent member of the band. They worked together on the album, “The Razors Edge”. However he parted from the band after four years when Phil Rudd joined the band. After this, Slade lived in the UK countryside for a few years before being asked by Geoff Downes to join the band Asia. Slade worked with the band for duration of 6 years. He quit the band in 2005.

Slade also collaborated with Damage Control that features Spike of Quireboys, Pete Way of UFO the bassist and Robin George the guitarist. He is also collaborating with Miwa, a heavy metal singer in Japan. He was the guest at Bloodstock Open Air festival that was conducted in 2007. He opened the festival with a drum solo and played the hits of AC/DC. He also worked together with Exploder, a rock band based in Birmingham. The drummer also appeared on Rock and a Hard Place, a game show that is telecast on Direct TV where he is together with Field and Stars of Track. He has worked on two albums with Asia including “Aura” which was released in 2001 and “Silent Nation” that was released in 2004.
